State Contest

State Contest

Students who finish in the top four at one of the five Regional Contests are invited to the State Contest which will take place at Central Connecticut State University on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Students are encouraged to improve their projects based on feedback received from judges at the Regional Contests. History Day is an ongoing program, which encourages students to continually expand their learning as they progress through the contest season.

In order to participate in the State Contest, students need to log in to the registration system and complete the waiver questions and pay their $15 per student  registration fee by Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 5 p.m.  Students can nominate themselves for Special Prizes that matches their project. Websites and papers must be uploaded into the registration system by 11:59 p.m. on Aprill 22. At that time the projects will lock for judging. (Students do need to bring one written copy of their process paper and annotated bibliography to the contest).  Documentary, performance, and exhibit students must upload their process paper and annotated bibliography by 11:59 p.m. on April 22 into the registration system. Students may continue to work on their projects (which they bring to the Contest) and their annotated bibliography. However, any changes made to paperwork between uploading it to the registration system and the three copies brought to the contest needs to be highlighted.  All students (including website and paper participants) must attend the contest. It is acceptable if a group member cannot attend the State Contest, except for the performance category.

Congratulations to our 2023 State Contest Participants!
